Youth Development Provider Network (YDPN) 

Quarterly Meeting

 

 

The Youth Development Provider Network (YDPN) meets quarterly to gain new tools, techniques and best practices in the area of Youth Development.  Each session includes professional development presentations, along with time for participants to share information and build relationships.

 

This informative workshop is eligible for two (2) state approved Clock Hours.  No fee is required to attend this workshop, although we do ask for you to register by clicking the link.

"Spotlight Presentation" - Promising Practices
Coalition of Mental Health
Belinda James
CHADS Coalition offers a variety of school and community workshops and programs that each aim to educate youth and adults on depression and suicide prevention.  In addition, we provide a Family Support Program that provides support to families in distress with a mental health issue.  Staff provides a personal connection with someone to help them navigate through the mental health and social service system.

An interactive character transformation curriculum that equips individuals with insights and tools to discover his/her unique purpose and mission in life.  Research of the essential ingredient that contributes to effective conquest of seemingly insurmountable circumstances and redirection of personal efforts that result in greatness has revealed that possession of "A Definite Chief Aim and Purpose" is the key to transforming one's life into a constructive force in society.

When does teasing become bullying?  The act of bullying is more than name calling.  Bullying is defined as the repetitive and constant intent to hurt others through verbal, psychological, physical acts.  there is no cultural divide in the act of bullying.  Participants will explore and discuss how to create a bully free environment by implementing systematic acts of thoughtful planning and effective response.

Partnering Within:  A Discussion about How Educators and Social Workers Should Engage to Collaborate for Child & Family Success

Participants will discuss the common goals of Educators and Social / Family Workers, high-risk factors that impact children and families in poverty and the impact of high-risk factors on family functioning.  Participants will leave with a greater appreciation for how Educators and Social / Family Workers can collaborate for successful child and family outcomes.
