Summary
Emotional/Behavioral Disorders is a term used by professionals, but many teachers and childcare staff are unaware of what this means for a child and for them. This lack of knowledge can often lead to children being rejected from a program or, if accepted, to multiple problems due to limited understanding of the situation. This session will explore what emotional/behavioral disorders are (as defined by the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act), myths associated with them, and how early care providers can work with children and families dealing with these disorders.
