Summary

In-person in St. Louis, MO: Participants will learn about ways to set up an environment to include visual cues and other supports to allow children to be more successful within a classroom. Topics addressed will include classroom arrangement, visual schedules and rules, transitions, activities to promote engagements, giving clear directions, and providing feedback and encouragement all to promote more success for children within a classroom setting.

Participants will learn about ways to set up an environment to include visual cues and other supports to allow children to be more successful within a classroom. Topics addressed will include classroom arrangement, visual schedules and rules, transitions, activities to promote engagements, giving clear directions, and providing feedback and encouragement all to promote more success for children within a classroom setting. 

Outcomes:  Teachers will be able to explain how to use visual cues to teach rules and schedules; give 2 examples of ways to set up the classroom environment and activities to allow for social engagement; give 2 examples of how to complete transitions and directives so that children will be more successful in completing tasks; and give examples of how to use positive feedback and encouragement effectively to support children's positive social behaviors.
