Ways to arrange your classroom as well as teaching strategies will be discussed to help create a feeling of a community within the classroom where respect, cooperation, ways to reduce frustration and social skills are emphasized

Description: Children spend many hours in a classroom and it's important that they feel like they are a valuable member of that community. How to build strong relationships with children and families will be emphasized. Teaching strategies to help create a feeling of a community within the classroom where respect, cooperation, ways to reduce frustration and social skills are emphasized.Outcomes:

Participants will gain an understanding of the issues related to establishing a strong social context within their classroom, increase knowledge of ways to create an environment that helps with cooperation and autonomy, and different teachings strategies that can help children feel like they are part of the classroom community.
