Early Childhood professionals seek to educate and care for young children. It is important that we provide activities and environments where children have freedom to learn. This session will explore ways of providing active learning opportunities throughout the day.

Objectives:

1. Explore the acronym HOMES as a way of ensuring children have freedom to learn.

2. Discuss activities and environments where children have freedom to learn.

3. Create a plan with small steps to build active learning and how to make these steps become part of the daily routine. 

4. Explore extending HOMES to families in their environments.
